FCO issues travel advice for Hong Kong

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has issued travel advice in Hong Kong regarding continued protests in the city.

Political demonstrations have taken place on Hong Kong Island, in Kowloon and various suburbs in the New Territories.

People in the affected areas are warned that sections of the city may be closed off and public transport such as bus routes, metro stations and the Hong Kong-Macao Ferry Terminal operations could be suspended without warning.

Demonstrations are likely to continue at the weekend, with more violent clashes happening at night.
